1. Altea to Calpe along the coast

One of the most rewarding short drives on the coast. Leaving Altea, the road hugs the shoreline before climbing toward Calpe, where the vast Peñón de Ifach rock rises straight out of the sea. Early morning or golden hour is the time to do it — the light on the water is unbeatable, and the roads are quieter.

2. The Cumbre del Sol and Moraira loop

Between Benitachell and Moraira, the Cumbre del Sol offers sweeping sea views and a series of flowing bends that reward a capable car. Stop in Moraira for a coffee by the marina before looping back. It is one of those drives where the journey genuinely is the destination.

3. Into the mountains behind Altea

Turn inland and the character changes completely. The roads climbing toward Guadalest wind through almond groves and rock faces, with the Mediterranean shrinking behind you. A brilliant contrast to the coastal routes and a proper test of a performance car.

4. Jávea and the Cap de la Nau

Further north, Jávea rewards the drive out to the Cap de la Nau lighthouse, with viewpoints over the cliffs and coves that the area is famous for. Pair it with lunch in the old town.
